Yew Dell Gardens, in the heart of horse country, is the site of an outstanding Blooms of Bressingham perennial demonstration garden. Planted in September, 2006, in Louisville, Kentucky, it was sponsored by E.ON. U.S. From a concept originated by Adrian Bloom, the installation continues his vision of building display gardens that celebrate perennial gardening with particular emphasis on design for year-round interest.

An outstanding community event, the installation included garden design and plant selection by Adrian Bloom, with plant materials supplied by local growers. E.ON. U.S. Ambassador volunteers tackled ground preparation and event coordination, while Yew Dell members, local supporters and more worked side by side with Bloom to plant the garden. The garden offers a mixture of perennials and shrubs, showcasing approximately 1500 plants and cultivars – all planted in a single day.

The site is the fourth demonstration garden Bloom has done in North America, along with six front garden makeovers at private homes, to demonstrate the potential of perennials. Additionally, the garden is meant to show the ease of planting a garden.

Yew Dell Gardens is open to the public Monday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., April to November. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., December through March.
